Our body is like a computer; for every input from our experiences, the body takes in and stores the information. It only deletes when we intentionally click the “move to bin” button. Every emotion and experience you are consciously or unconsciously exposed to is stored in your body, whether you remember it or not. Your body keeps score of the tension, anxiety and stress you have experienced since birth. They are manageable when you are willing to physically open these “folders” in your body and remove them.
How can you discharge unpleasant energy stored deeply in your body, especially when you might not have the words, expression or memory for it?
The good news about TRE® is that you do not need to know the story of “what, why or how it happened” or have an explanation to justify yourself. You are aware of the intense tension, anxiety and stress in your body, and you want to discharge them.
So, what is TRE®?
Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®) is based on Dr. David Berceli’s work, backed by scientific research since 1990s.
It is an innovative series of exercises that assist your body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. The exercises safely activate a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When your muscular shaking or vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return to balance. You are giving your nervous system permission to back down from fight, flight and freeze mode as your coping mechanism.
Sometimes, this unpleasant energy manifests as pain, stiffness, insomnia, indigestion, skin disorders, and other health challenges in the body. It is essential to release this stuck energy in your body that no longer serves you.
TRE® focuses on working on the PSOAS system to ground and regulate your body. For more information, see www.traumaprevention.com.
Through the coaching sessions, I have learnt that the way that i talk to myself can harm me not just mentally but physically too. I also learned that what I think might not be the truth, even though to me it seems like it is.
The shift I noticed in myself since coaching with Vernessa is I am nicer to myself in the way that I talk to myself, especially when going through something difficult. Vernessa is a great listener and friend, I would recommend her if you are looking for coaching.
